I’m a die-hard Tina fan and always will be so I really hope you guys enjoy my new, grungier take on one of her biggest hits from the fantastic, 80’s movie, ‘Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome”

I’m so excited to release this song as it’s truly been one of my soundtrack highlights of 2014. I’m obsessed with it.
Noud has worked this song into something incredibly emotive and beautiful and as always, it’s a real joy and an honor for me to sing along to his work. You know I love you Noud, thanks so much for another fantastic collab!
Here’s the brand new, gorgeously stirring “The Last Goodbye” from The Hobbit, The Battle of the Five Armies. Originally by Billy Boyd.
I just want to say a huge, huge thanks to my darling Noud. This was so emotional for me and so much fun to record. Thank you so, so much for making this so beautiful and for being so wonderful. I love making music with you
You have no idea how many times I’ve tried to record this song, the first time I got sick for 6 months with vocal problems and then each time after that, I just couldn’t get it to work for me. This song has always meant a lot to me as ‘The Return of the King” will always be my favourite LOTR movie. I still cry like a baby during the Haven scene and though I think all the songs written for these movies are beyond beautiful ( Aniron, Edge of Night, Gollum’s song etc ) I think ‘Into the West” is the jewel in the crown and really cuts through to the heart of the story.
Every time I tried to create my own version of this song, I’d get frustrated that I didn’t sound powerful enough on those big notes ( like Annie ) and then I realized that was my problem, I was trying too hard. So over the weekend I decided not to bother with all the strings and harps and everything else I’d been throwing into my mix and instead of trying to dress it up, I’d strip it down to nothing and I loved it. I’m finally happy and I hope you guys like it too.
So anyway, here it is at last…3 years in the making. Enjoy. xx
I think this song is so beautiful with it’s melancholic, wistful notes and heartbreaking lyrics, I’ve always loved singing it for years so it’s wonderful to finally record it properly. I have to say this film, “The Nightmare Before Christmas” is another nostalgic feast for me, I’ve always been enchanted by it, especially the sweet, wide-eyed, lovelorn Sally with her detachable limbs. I always thought she was the cutest thing.
Anyway, I hope you guys enjoy this last Halloween song from me (for this year ). It’s been a really fun few weeks.
Happy Halloween!! xxx
