Skye Boat Song

So i’m hopelessly obsessed with the new tv series, “Outlander” and it only took me three episodes to jump online and buy the books. Once I get myself properly immersed in this story and these beautiful characters, I’m sure I’ll have songs and ballads pouring out of me as I find this story so gorgeously inspiring. For now though, I thought I’d start by covering this spine tingly version of “Skye Boat Song” by “Bear McCreary” which is used in the opening titles.
As a Scottish lass myself, this was really quite a beautiful one for me to record for it takes me home. I love you Scotland! xx

Enjoy. xx

Wow; no wonder I love your voice and songs so much. I did not know you were a Scot born Lass. I am of Scot descent as well. You make me home sick. But I thank you sweet lady for your beautiful voice. It is good to be home sick once in awhile.

I have always loved this song, since I first sang in it in my middle school choir. I was so excited when I saw that you had made a version of it. Also just wanted to point out, incase you didn’t know, but this song is actually called “Over the Sea to Skye”. “Skye Boat Song” is a completely different song about Prince Charles Stuart’s escape from Uist to the Isle of Skye, due to the failing of his revolt.
