The Bear and the Maiden Fair

Finally got round to making this and actually found it to be the most fun I’ve had recording in ages. I loved being so relaxed and free with my voice, not having to worry about it sounding “perfect” as the song isn’t really about that. I really, really hope all you GOT fans think I did it justice.

This is dedicated to my own lovely “bear”, kisses. x

This is an amazing song,a nd i love your voice. There is, however, A song you should be aware of. Its in the 2007 animated version of the epic “Beowulf”. Whealphow sings it, and it could be expanded and sung. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v6Sw0cOHa8s

Very good. Sort of song you can drive the car to on a bright smumer’s day. Thanks for the link. Although I think French and Saunders would have a field day with that video!

This is so great. I hear it and I can so imagine this being sung in tavern or inn such as Prancing Pony(from LotR) and Hobbits dancing on the table. It makes me jump around my room. So suitable for dance and so much better than the original credits version. I went to check it, and it didn’t sound like a folk/harvest/dancing song as it should ( I don’t exactly watch the show…Moffat is enough for me)

    Hi Karliene!

Your version is great and by far the best among all I have heard. I would love to learn to play it on the recorder. Is there any chance to have a look at the score? (I’m ineterested in the tune).

    Thank you!

Oh thank you so much. I’m afraid I don’t have any written music as I compose and create purely by ear and improvisation. I’m not actually technically trained in music.
I’m so sorry, if there is anything else I can help you with though, don’t hesitate to ask.
