About Me

I’m passionate about music and love to explore new ways of telling stories through sounds. All my life i’ve found myself gazing off into other realms where knights charge into battles with dragons and maidens sing from arched windows. I’m a hopeless romantic and a true geek through and through which will probably be evident in my song choices.

Feel free to have a meander through my halls of sound and do take what you like, my music is free to download.
Enjoy and thanks so much for stopping by.

Have fun
Karliene.

Oh thank you so much, I love that song! That is a massive compliment. xx

  2. Charlie-Elizabeth April 12, 2014 at 5:42 am

I love your voice and music so much. I think you have more musical talent than most recording artists that are signed to labels and popping out songs for the radio left and right. I’m so happy to have discovered your music through a youtube recommendation and I listen to your music quite a bit. I’m actually a bit envious of you because I wish I had your talent.

The music you’ve made for Game of Thrones actually inspired me to stop putting off watching the show and now I’m absolutely hooked. I love the music you’ve recorded for the show, as well as the Lord of the Rings/Hobbit songs among others. I think your cover of Love Song For a Vampire is much better than Annie Lennoxe’s original version, your voice and tone just fit the song’s theme and the film’s theme so much better and is just so hauntingly beautiful.

But, I was wondering if you would be willing to create song theme music for the Harry Potter series as you have for GOT, LOTR/Hobbit and other fandoms.

  3. Karliene April 12, 2014 at 7:58 am

Hi, thank you so much for your lovely and very encouraging words on my work. I’m so glad you found me and i’m thrilled you’re enjoying my songs.
A lot of people have asked why I don’t create any music for the Harry Potter series, and though I did enjoy the movies, I have to admit, they just don’t inspire me musically. I think perhaps I’m a bit too old for the series, i’m nearly 30 after all. I grew up on LOTR and The Hobbit and the Game of Thrones books but sadly, I missed the Harry Potter trend and never read the books so the movies never really felt like they were aimed at me. Does that kinda make sense? It’s a bit hard to explain really.
I hope you understand and I am sorry. I just have to be really, really into something for music to happen. All my songs are born our of a deep passion and obsession for the subject and Harry Potter just never, quite got there with me.
I am going to continue writing and creating new GOT and LOTR/ Hobbit inspired songs though so I hope you’ll continue to follow my work.

All the best and thanks so much again.

First I’ve written one time before and just like then I want to say I love your voice, your music, and your videos. You are so awesome. So that being said you mentioned that you have to be inspired to write a song. Have you seen Troy, Kingdom of Heaven, 300, or clash of the Titan movies? They all seem along the lines of Game of Thrones and Lord of the Rings. I think you could make a great song useing Troy. Maybe one for Achilles & one for Hector & of course one for Helen of Troy. There are so many great movies that stand alone that need better songs then they already have, and I think you could do that. Thank you for your time.

  5. Steve from England May 12, 2014 at 6:18 am

Thank you Karliene for keeping alight a small bright flame of beauty and truth and romance and honour in a world ever more darkened by cynicism and greed. Your music is heart-stoppingly lovely. As indeed are you…

  6. Karliene May 12, 2014 at 9:23 am

What a beautifully touching comment, thank you so much Steve. I’m so glad you like my work. x

When I heard for the first time The Rains of Castamere, by Karliene, I fell in love with her voice and her musical talent. After, I was delighted by her kindness and friendship, because she is more than a singer and musician, she is one of the most lovaly person I’ve met. She deserves all the credit for this new career and Im so happy when I listen her music; a must when I am studying or working. Hope you fall in love with her too.

Saludos y cariños desde Caracas, Venezuela. And thank you so much Karliene

  8. Charis May 20, 2014 at 10:08 am

Hey! I love your songs, especially the Hobbit and Once Upon a Time ones. I think you should do another Once Upon a Time song…your one is so good, I love it!!! You’re very talented! Keep up the great work! 😀

  9. Thanangst May 21, 2014 at 6:15 am

Karliene, your music is beautiful and inspirational! All my life I’ve compiled “scores” for my fantasy favorites, and so many of your themes and arrangements comprise the primary backdrop of my mind worlds.

    Such a lovely voice……..

I was so excited to see that you are a Sherlock fan–I’m **totally obsessed** with that brilliant show, and am also a diehard Cumberbitch. In all my life, I’ve never loved any show more than this one. (That said, I’ve been a ST:TOS and now ST:Reboot for decades, and was very active in the fandom as well, K/S and all…..). LOVE YOUR JOHNLOCK SONG, and play it constantly. PLEASE: More Sherlock/Johnlock songs!!!! That relationship is so rich, so textured and complex–there’s nothing else remotely like it.

Thank you, Karliene, for the beauty and inspiration you add to our lives. I’ll follow you always.

  10. Karliene May 21, 2014 at 10:52 am

Thank you for such a beautiful and heartfelt message, it’s so sweet that you love the music so much. Also, it’s lovely to meet a fellow “Sherlock-obsessive” like myself.
I can’t wait for the new season !

Happy listening and thank you so much Xxx

  13. Yesugen from Mongolia June 8, 2014 at 8:14 pm

You’re wonderful! I’m in love with your songs, your voice and your videos!
I’ve become addicted with your music. I’ve been replaying your music over and over all day for weeks.
What spell have you cast on us? It doesn’t matter, I’m in love with it.

I have to confess, I’m jealous of you :P. Your voice is truly beautiful. Your voice and your songs aren’t good, they’re PERFECT!

“There are times when I listen to your music and I still can’t believe you are real.” Jorah Mormont (It’s’s a little changed, I know)

No, all these things I said/wrote aren’t exaggerated, they’re the very truth. This piece of truth doesn’t change because of someone’s view, but it’s similar to scientific truth, like water is liquid.

So, you’re amazing, you’re voice is amazing, you’re songs are amazing and it’s the truth. If it’s not, it’ll be the day the sun rises in the West and sets in the East, when the seas go dry and the mountains blow in the wind like leaves.

    With love from Mongolia,

    Your biggest Mongolian fan, Yesugen

Note: I’m a big GOT and ASOIAF lover. Please to more music to those :))

  14. Keith June 9, 2014 at 8:40 am

So, I encountered “You Win or You Die” on Youtube and was mesmerized. It’s so beautifully haunting. Amazing job!

While listening to “The Dornishman’s Wife” I found myself thinking about Oberyn and last week’s episode… though I don’t think the song was about him. Maybe one in the future?

  15. Ali June 22, 2014 at 10:25 am

very nice music and pretty website

  16. Schmaa July 13, 2014 at 7:54 pm

    Hey Karliene
I’m german and i am not pretty good in english so this will be in my language.
Ich habe keine Künstlerin erlebt, die so viel mit ihrer Stimme experimentiert. Durch die vielen Stimmen, die zusammenarbeiten wird win ganz besonderer Klang erzeugt. Mich persönlich erinnert deine Musik an frühere Zeiten. Ich hätte gerne damals gelebt, denn als man noch nicht alles wusste und die Welt noch nicht mit Stein und Eisen zugemauerte lag ein Zauber in der Luft.
Besonders The Last Of The Giants gibt dieses Gefühl wieder. Es war das erste und das beste Lied dass ich von dir gehört habe.
Ich hoffe du machst noch viel Musik auch zu Filmen. Ich freu mich auf deine nächste CD
    Greetings from Schmaa

  17. Greyjoy July 17, 2014 at 9:40 pm

Rehearing your newest album on spottily. Great work as usual.
Actually I not very aware of the story of Anne Boleyn but your powerful and vivd songs made me buy a book about Tudor’s history. Your songs put a spell on me and make me dream all over calm and wonder winter landscapes or deep forests.
You can be very proud of you! Your voice make me so happy!

  18. Diana July 26, 2014 at 6:55 am

Your music truly inspires people. I myself have changed a lot due to your beautiful lyrics. I really hope you’ll keep up the good work. P.S. Sorry if my english is bad. Greetings from Romania.

  19. Uncle Ned July 27, 2014 at 12:03 am

Hi Karliene, have admired your music for a while and decided to use You Win or You Die as a backing track to a video I edited together about Game of Thrones. Hope you don’t mind. You can check it out at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCRrre1ntTQB2RjPQcEZHoJQ/videos

  20. Brian Runyon August 5, 2014 at 1:08 am

I found you through YouTube. I’m impressed with your work, especially your takes on some of the songs in the Song of Ice and Fire series.

  21. Jay August 5, 2014 at 11:30 am

    Miss Karliene Reynolds,

I know you are quite busy with creating your fabulous music, but I thought this was worth asking since I couldn’t find a Frequently Asked Questions on your site – do you do song commissions by any chance?

  22. Karliene August 5, 2014 at 9:06 pm

Hi there, I am open to commissions but obviously, it depends on what you’re after.
I’m on facebook ( /KarlieneMusic, links here on website ) if you want to chat some more. I can then give you my personal email where we can talk a little easier.

  23. Ellen August 11, 2014 at 7:21 am

    Hello,
I just wanted you to know how much your music means to me. I spent a lot of my teen years unsure of myself, I didn’t really have much taste in music, I didn’t really have much passion for anything. Your music was one of the things which helped me realise what my passions were. I have always loved art but now I know it’s what I need to do with my life, your creativity is so inspiring to me. I also think that it’s you which helped me realise my love for fantasy, history and story telling. I’ve even begun to write stories of my own and your music is always on my inspiration playlist. So thank you so much for helping me realise my passions. Also, I wonder if you know the song the parting glass, it’s really beautiful, one of my favourites and I think it would be perfect for you.
Thank you for sharing your talent with us! Xxx

  24. Karliene August 12, 2014 at 12:37 pm

What a lovely message, i’m so touched you’ve been enjoying my music and that it’s managed to inspire you with your own work. I wish you all the best with your passions and I hope they guide you in your life and continue to bring you joy. Life is too short so always make sure you’re doing what you love.
Oh and don’t worry, “the Parting Glass” is on my “to-do” list of songs. I will get round to it. x

  25. Jay August 25, 2014 at 7:36 am

    Miss Karliene,
I’m the same Jay who left a message at the beginning of August, but I did send you a Facebook message. I wasn’t sure if you had gotten it since I haven’t heard back. I just wanted to check back up on it because I am still interested in a song commission.

  26. Patrick August 26, 2014 at 12:42 pm

  42. Alix December 10, 2014 at 9:22 am

Hi Karliene, You’ve probably been asked this question before, but I couldn’t find the answer scrolling through your site: what software do you use to edit your videos. I have Final Cut Pro, but my video montages look terrible compared to yours! Anyways please keep making music forever, you are incredibly talented and I will never get tired of your music <3

  43. Karliene December 10, 2014 at 4:28 pm

I use Sony Vegas pro 12 and Adobe After Effects but I’ve been editing for years so really, it’s not about the editing software, it’s just something you’ll get better at the more you do it.
I will say that I never liked Final Cut Pro. I’ve always found Sony vegas a lot easier to learn and there’s tons of tutorials on You Tube to help you get started.
    Have fun editing. x

  44. Alix December 12, 2014 at 3:58 am

Thanks for the reply, I will give these a try!

  45. Nora Speicher December 13, 2014 at 8:27 am

Hey. I love your music. A few weeks ago i watched the red wedding on YouTube and I watched your video Let It End too. It´s so wonderful! I visited your website and downloaded all avaible songs. Now, I only hear them. And I wanna ask you to write some songs about the Hunger Games. I love the books and the movies and I would really really love you if you would make some songs. Or you can cover a few like Deep in the Meadow or The Hanging Tree. All of them very beautiful songs by Suzanne Collins. She only wrote the lyrics and Sting have sung them.
    XXX Nora

  46. Joshua December 14, 2014 at 11:55 am

  48. Niamh Fraser December 17, 2014 at 4:10 am

    Hi!
Just thought I’d say that your voice is absolutely gorgeous! I have listened to your version of Skye Boat Song (the Outlander version) possibly over 1000 times. I listen to it on repeat and have done since October! I was in Italy for a while earlier in October and I was feeling extremely homesick about Scotland and your song just made a complete difference. So thank you and please never stop making videos and writing your incredible songs because you are so extremely talented xxxx

  49. Karliene December 17, 2014 at 3:53 pm

Thank you Nimah, that’s so lovely to hear.
Where in Scotland are you from? I’m from a small town called Dunfermline in Fife though I’ve been living out in Australia for the last 5 years so I understand your homesickness. You never stop feeling that tug for home no matter how long you’re away.
I’m glad my songs could help you feel better. xx

  50. Karliene December 17, 2014 at 3:54 pm

Thank you so much. I wish you a very Merry Christmas too. x
