About Me

I’m passionate about music and love to explore new ways of telling stories through sounds. All my life i’ve found myself gazing off into other realms where knights charge into battles with dragons and maidens sing from arched windows. I’m a hopeless romantic and a true geek through and through which will probably be evident in my song choices.

Feel free to have a meander through my halls of sound and do take what you like, my music is free to download.
Enjoy and thanks so much for stopping by.

Have fun

    Hi Karliene,
I have a job where I have to try speaking in Gaelic and a Scottish Accent- do you have any tips? The last thing I want to do is tick-off a “Pure Scott”…

    Hello Karliene,
Your songs are truly beautiful. My favourites are maybe “Lament for Boromir”, “Into the West”, “Smaugs song” and “Dragon Queen” but I can’t really decide, they are all great.
Thank you very much for this wonderful music that makes me smile any time I hear it!

  8. Visitor from Amazon December 7, 2015 at 3:53 am

Hello! Amazon customer reporting in to warn you that there is an issue with your “Become The Beast” uploads: only the version with drums (which I assume is the remix) is available to buy!

I was originally aiming to buy the version from the video, and so bought the standard, non-remix version off Amazon a few days ago, and was surprised at the difference. I thought this might be an issue with Amazon, and because the previews are too early in the track to see which version is which, I went by other sites with longer track previews to check. The same thing seems to happen on Loudr and Google Play: on both sites, both previews are the remix.

I cannot check on iTunes, Spotify, etc as I do not have accounts there, but if you did all your uploads in a row, then the problem is likely the same everywhere. You must have accidentally misnamed a copy of the remixed file as the standard one when mixing down, and uploaded that.

Could you upload the correct version when you have the time? The video’s understated orchestration is gorgeous.

  9. Karliene December 7, 2015 at 10:42 am

Hi, This is actually a problem with Loudr and I haven no idea why it’s done this. The single has always been fine for months but recently it’s just disappeared. I’m currently trying to remedy the problem with the distribution team to find out what’s happening.
If you have an email address, I’d be happy to send you the original single.
Feel free to get in contact on my FB page /KarlieneMusic

Hi Karliene, I’m a 58-year old Canadian guy that has been in the entertainment industry for some 30 odd years. For one of the rare time in my life I was driven to tears by your heart-wrenching cover of Heroes. I felt, like many, many others I’m sure, your pain. I suddenly aged yesterday and your rendition will forever mark me.

    You are a true artist… passionate… inspiring.

  14. Karliene January 14, 2016 at 8:14 am

Thank you very much Daniel, I’m so happy you’re enjoying my music.

  15. Claire January 20, 2016 at 10:29 am

Your rendition of “As the world falls down” is the most beautiful, heartbreaking thing I’ve ever heard. Brings me to tears just thinking about it. To be honest I can’t listen to it anymore because it’s too painful, instead I listen to your other Labyrinth covers and other songs and they’re just fantastic.
Last week was simply the worst week I’ve ever had because I lost two people who I’ve admired since I could walk and talk: Bowie and Alan Rickman. No words can describe how sad I feel. That being said, I found your music and it’s been really helpful and for that I say, thank you.

Bowie was, and still is, one of my greatest heroes and I know he was one of yours. Apart from being a talented musician, he was a kind soul with a heart of gold and I think he would’ve been proud of you. xxx

  16. Charlie January 20, 2016 at 12:32 pm

    Hello Karliene!

I’ve been Listening to your music for awhile ( a Year maybe?) and absolutely adore it. You have a rare and unique sound , I especially love your GoT’s Fan Music as well as the Boleyn Album. In all Honesty I wish i could request a Fan Song about Cersei, perhaps based around her Prophecy? Haha. But I know you have moved on from that. You are getting and have been getting into new things and developing your own Sound and music! Which is great, Keep up the good work. Also the fact that you don’t expect money for your art say’s so much about you, Your Lovely.

  17. Karliene January 20, 2016 at 2:11 pm

Oh I don’t think I’ll ever move on from Game of Thrones and I’m certain I’ll be composing and writing new songs for those amazing books till the day I stop breathing. They stand right up there with Lord of the Rings in terms of inspiration. I still have so many characters I’d like to explore musically including Cersei.
Thank you so much for your very kind comment and for making me smile. I’m touched you’re enjoying my work so much. Keep watching this space for more.
    All the best.

  18. Karliene January 20, 2016 at 2:23 pm

How lovely you are, thank you. I’ve been receiving so much lovely feedback about my my Labyrinth album after last weeks sad news and I’m so touched. I’m just so happy I created it before he left us because I don’t know if I’d have been able to make it in light of his passing, it would have just been too sad. He was absolutely my hero and I really worshiped everything about him from his music to his crazy fashion, his films and his alter ego Ziggy Stardust, he was so sparkly and beautiful and inspiring and under all that, he seemed so genuinely lovely and kind too. Just what an incredible man.
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave me a comment. It means so much to me. I hope you’re ok and coping alright with it all. It was devastating to hear Alan Rickman had passed too, he was a wonderful actor and another person I greatly admired. What an awful start to 2016.

Keep your chin up and remember we were so lucky to have them. They may be gone but we have their art forever. x

  19. Karliene January 20, 2016 at 2:26 pm

Wow, thank you so much Daniel. It really has been the worst start to 2016. David will be so missed. x

Greetings from Chiang Mai in Thailand. It’s midnight and I have tears in my eyes. I’m a 64 years young US expat, original Bowie fan first saw him live in 1972) and I must tell you that your Heroes/Starman piece which I just now discovered is simply exquisite, extraordinary and just heartbreaking. Like Daniel above I spent my life in the concert and theatre business, so take it from two old pros… you, dear heart, are someone who is very, VERY specially gifted. You’ve been touched by something, you really have.

11 months after this man’s passing, emotions amongst his oceans of fans are still very raw as you certainly know, mixed with this lingering sense of utter disbelief… but your beautifully produced gem is a soothing gift.

And now I must dive into all of your work…

  29. Karliene December 18, 2016 at 7:01 pm

    What an absolutely beautiful comment!
Thank you so much. I’m amazed you saw Bowie live though, wow. To have someone compliment me on my Bowie pieces who actually saw the actual Starman himself…goodness me! That’s amazing.
I really hope you enjoy my music. Feel free to get in touch with me on my contact email and I can send you some extra free stuff!
